ADMail - another fine product from Amazing Developments
-------------------------------------------------------
WHAT IT DOES
Pretty much what you'd expect - you can read your mail, you can send mail,
you can add a random signature to your mail, you can sort your mailbox (if
you want), and so on. It's dead good.
WHY IT'S GREAT
Features:
Sortable mailboxes.
Use any number of mailboxes.
Use any text editor at all (but not to read messages with)
Built-in pager (for reading messages with)
MIME support (displays quoted-printable and standard messages in pager,
uses "metamail" for others)
Can be "dropped in" to any setup which uses UUCP-compatible mailboxes
(just about anything) - requires no specific Net software.
Lovely graphical interface, with lots of shortcuts for keyboard freaks.
Fully configurable button bank.
Can use default, named, or own public screen.
Built-in alias and prefs editors.
Clipboard support.
File attachments.
Responsive and friendly author.
WHAT'S NEW
New features in this release include:
A few bug fixes, including the infamous TAB problem. It'll work on
pre-2.1 systems again now, too. (Oops.)
Better gadget layout - things fit the windows better and it generally
looks neater.
Updated alias system: The old alias select requester has been replaced
by a much enhanced one, enabling you to fill in the To:, Cc: and
Bcc: entries before loading the editor. There's a built-in alias
editor now, too.
File attachments: ADMail now allows you to choose a file to attach from
the send-off requester. When you choose to send the message, the
selected file will be UUEncoded if necessary, attached and sent
with the message.
Clipboard support: ADMail can now save messages into the clipboard,
for pasting into word processors and such.
Built-in prefs editor: Now you should never need to load the prefs file
into a text editor ever again.
More config file options: It wouldn't truly be a new release without
a few more of these :)
HOW TO USE IT
It requires AmigaOS 2.04 or better to run - you might get away with running
it under 2.0, but no guarantees. Under 2.1 and higher, you get localised
dates. Woo.
It's really configurable, so you just put it somewhere you can run it from
and set up the config file the way you want. Full instructions are in the
doc file. It comes with a spiffy Installer script now, too.
You will, of course, require a mailbox file.
OTHER STUFF
ADMail is shareware - for a mere ten pounds, a copy of the splendiferous
ADMaN mail and newsreading system will be yours. It's exactly like ADMail,
only more so.
Feel free to distribute this, but do NOT make money from the distribution.
Or I won't be your friend any more. Oh, and unless the package is
distributed in a totally unmodified form, I won't speak to you ever
again.
The only commercial distribution sanctioned is the Aminet CD and the CDs
produced by Fred Fish.
Simes.
